Classic Dishwasher
ASKO challenged us to create a dishwasher design that would stand out in the retail line-up and still feel like a natural development within their existing range of kitchen products.
Our approach in this project was user-centred, starting by defining the features and functions that would be of real and critical value. Based on this, we created an iconic design that protrudes with its clean front panel in combination with the distinct round shaped controls.

We even managed to get rid of the traditional plastic panel and integrate the user interface directly in the steel front. Clean defined lines and the use of authentic material enhance the premium look and feel. Bearing in mind what needs to be done rather that what could be done, the interface is intuitive and functions are kept to a minimum. Light is used to communicate status in a less obtrusive way.

The design has been well received from both the client and the market. Winning a Red Dot Product Design Award in 2011, naturally boosted the attention.

"We are especially pleased to receive the price of these products because we feel they both symbolize and collect our Scandinavian design values in the best possible way", says Tobias Strålman Design Director of ASKO.
